A CREATIVE MIND.
A PROBLEM SOLVER.

I’m Chris Chuzles, a designer and developer based in Madison, Wisconsin. I bring design, development, and motion together to help businesses and creative teams turn ideas into finished work.

I enjoy projects that give me something to figure out—a design challenge, custom functionality, or a better way to make a website work. Solving those problems is a big part of what keeps this work interesting.

IT STARTED WITH
A BAND WEBSITE.

In 1996, I built a website for my band. What began as a hobby soon became something other people asked me to help with, from creating their first websites to improving the ones they already had.

After graduating from UW–Milwaukee in 2000 with a degree in Mass Communication, I chose to stay in Milwaukee and pursue my growing interest in web design. Additional classes led to an internship at Xorbix Technologies, followed by my first role as an Interactive Designer at Nelson Schmidt.

Since then, my work has spanned website design, development, video editing, and motion graphics. I’ve also taught web design at Waukesha County Technical College.

Freelancing gives me the chance to collaborate with different teams, encounter new perspectives, and tackle challenges I might not find in my day-to-day work.

DETAIL MATTERS.
SO DOES DELIVERY.

Clients often mention my attention to detail, quick turnaround, and willingness to go the extra mile. I care about getting the small things right while keeping the whole project moving.

Because I work across design and development, I can consider how a site looks and how it functions together. I’m comfortable taking a project from the initial idea through the finished build, or joining an existing team to handle a specific part.

WISCONSIN ROOTS.
A LOUDER SIDE.

I was born in Green Bay, grew up in Appleton, and spent 20 years in Milwaukee before moving to Madison in 2020. These days, I call Madison home with my wife and child.

Music has been part of my life just as long as the web. I play guitar and sing in Hot Coffin, and previously sang in Disguised as Birds. Further back, there was a tuba in the mix, too.

Outside work, I’m into movies, video games, time in nature, and collecting vinyl records.

GOOD WORK.
GOOD PEOPLE.
